#PDTurns5 – Birthday Competition
Terms & Conditions
These terms and conditions (Terms) apply to the #PDTurns5 – Birthday Competition, run by PD Insurance NZ (pd.co.nz), in which participants are invited to engage with weekly birthday-themed content on Facebook and/or Instagram for the chance to win one of five official prizes – including a grand prize valued at $250, weekly prizes worth $100 each, and additional spot prizes awarded at our discretion – with a total prize pool valued at up to $800.
In these Terms, ‘pd.co.nz’ refers to PD Insurance, Pacific International Insurance Pty Ltd and all related group companies (also referred to as ‘we’, ‘us’ or ‘our’).
How to Enter the Competition:
To enter the Competition, participants must complete the following steps during the Competition Period:
- Follow either or both of the following accounts:
- @pd.co.nz on Instagram
- @PDInsuranceNZ on Facebook
- Submit at least one Qualifying Entry in response to a weekly birthday-themed prompt posted by pd.co.nz on Facebook or Instagram.
- Be a legal resident of New Zealand and aged 18 years or over.
- To be eligible for the Grand Prize, submit one Qualifying Entry for each of the four weekly prompts, within the respective weekly entry windows.
What Counts as a Qualifying Entry:
A “Qualifying Entry” may be submitted as a public comment, post, Story, or a Direct Message (DM) on Facebook or Instagram, in response to a weekly birthday-themed prompt.
Both public and private submissions are accepted, provided they:
- Clearly respond to the weekly prompt (through public comment, post, Story, or a Direct Message) and follows the instruction on the prompt.
- Include the hashtag #PDTurns5 – this applies to both public and private entries, including DMs, to confirm participation.
- Tag pd.co.nz on the relevant platform (where tagging is applicable)
- Comply with platform rules (e.g. no copyright violations or abusive content)
- Depict responsible pet care.
- Be original and engaging – for example, showing effort, humour, sentiment, or storytelling.
Participants may submit multiple entries each week. However, only the first valid entry per participant per week will be judged for official prizes. Additional entries may still be considered for discretionary spot prizes or featured across pd.co.nz marketing channels.
Competition Period:
The Competition runs from 4 August 2025 at 00:01 NZST to 29 August 2025 at 23:59 NZST.
Prizes and Winner Selection:
There will be five official winners and several discretionary spot prizes awarded:
1x Grand Prize Winner
One participant will receive a $250 Prezzy Gift Card. To be eligible, the participant must submit one Qualifying Entry for each of the four weekly prompts posted during the Competition Period. The winner will be selected based on the overall creativity of their four entries.
4x Weekly Winners
One winner will be selected each week, receiving either a $100 Prezzy Gift Card or a curated pet mini pack of equivalent value.
- Each weekly prompt will be posted on the Monday of that week.
- To be eligible for that week’s prize, participants must submit their Qualifying Entry before 23:59 NZST on the Sunday of that same week.
- Only entries received within the same week the prompt was posted will be considered for that week’s prize.
- Late entries will not be carried over into the following week’s judging.
The five official winners will be notified by DM on Facebook or Instagram and announced no later than 5 September 2025.
How All Official Winners Will Be Selected
All official winners (Grand Prize and Weekly) will be selected by a pd.co.nz panel.
The participant with the most notable and creative entries across all four prompts will be awarded the Grand Prize.
Weekly winners are not automatically eligible for the Grand Prize unless they have also submitted valid entries for all four weekly prompts.
Eligibility and Contact:
To enter the competition and claim a prize, winners must:
- Respond to our message within 7 days of being contacted.
- Provide a valid phone number, email address and NZ residential address.
- Be 18 years or older and a resident of New Zealand.
- All personal information will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
If a winner does not respond in time or cannot be reached, we reserve the right to:
- Select a replacement winner.
- Withdraw the prize.
- Donate the prize to a registered charity of our choice.
General Conditions:
- Duplicate, automated, or fraudulent entries will be disqualified.
- Employees of Pacific International Insurance and their immediate families are welcome to engage but are not eligible to win.
- Content must reflect responsible pet care. Any submissions deemed unsafe or harmful to animals will be disqualified and may be reported to the relevant platform.
- By entering, participants consent to pd.co.nz using submitted content (comments, photos, videos) across its marketing channels (e.g. social media, blogs, newsletters).
- If you are selected as a winner, you consent to us publishing your name and surname.
- The prize is non-transferable, non-refundable, non-exchangeable, and not redeemable for cash.
- pd.co.nz may modify, suspend, or cancel the Competition at any time if circumstances beyond our control prevent it from running as planned.
- We are not responsible for technical issues or social media platform errors that may affect entry or communication.
- Any decision we make is final with respect to all matters relating to this Competition and no further correspondence or discussions will be entered into.
- This Competition is governed by New Zealand law and is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by Facebook or Instagram.
By entering the Competition, you accept these Terms. If you do not agree to any part of them, please do not enter.
